Although a death mask was never made of Abraham Lincoln, he had two life masks made five years apart - the one above in 1860. Many of us carry a mental image of Lincoln - some of our images may differ with this life mask. Mental images are part of things we love, and things we hate, Regardless of how well a book is written, a person who has been attacked by a dog is likely to read Lassie Come Home. The same is true of a book that displays poor word choices.
